- (a) Disciplinary separation may be used only when a resident commits a major rule violation or poses an imminent physical threat to self or others. Disciplinary separation shall not exceed 24 hours for the same incident.
- (b) A written disciplinary report that describes the resident's precipitating behavior and identifies the staff's response shall be completed promptly, but no later than the end of the shift on which the disciplinary separation occurs. The report shall be submitted immediately to the facility administrator for review.
- (c) If the resident is behind an architectural barrier during the period of disciplinary separation, a juvenile supervision officer or youth activities supervisor shall personally observe and record the resident's behavior at random intervals not to exceed 15 minutes.
- (d) Any time period a resident is placed in disciplinary separation shall be continuous and shall include non-program hours.
