Police Traffic Supervision on Interstate Highways in Cities of Over 50,000 Population

Police traffic activities. Local agencies will be encouraged to conduct all police traffic supervision activities on all interstate highways within their jurisdiction.
- (1) Officers of the department will not be routinely assigned traffic supervision duties on these sections of the interstate systems. Officers will handle major dangerous violations they observe while traveling such sections, and may take routine enforcement action.
- (2) There are occasions when it may become highly desirable for units to be routinely assigned to an interstate system within a city of more than 50,000 population.
- (3) Requests for permission to assign units to these systems should be submitted through channels to the Assistant Director of Texas Highway Patrol.
