If a vehicle inspection station intends to go out of business, the licensee shall notify the department representative and immediately return all forms, inspection certificates, signs, any equipment furnished by the department and/or state authorized vendor(s), and any other official materials relating to the state inspection program. Failure to comply with the requirement of this section may result in criminal prosecution, as well as necessary civil recovery action and may impede any reappointment of the vehicle inspection station.
