Change of Location, Name, or Ownership

- (a) Owners of vehicle inspection stations contemplating a change of location, change of name, or change of ownership shall notify the department representative before such change is made. Upon the effective date of any such change of location, name, or ownership, all inspection privileges will cease under the former name or address. The certificate of appointment fee for any such change in location or name only will be the same as for a new vehicle inspection station application.
(b) Forms required for a status change are as follows:
- (1) inspection station application and investigation report, Form VI-2; and
- (2) signature card, Form VI-13.
- (c) Upon implementation of the Texas Automated Vehicle Inspection System (TAVIS), owners of vehicle inspection stations contemplating a change of location, change of name, or change of ownership shall notify the department representative before such change is made. A vehicle inspection station owner implementing any significant change must effect change(s) in the same manner as an initial application as detailed in §23.1 of this title (relating to New Applications) along with any applicable fee.
