- (a) Any part of record may, within 20 days of the date of service of the examiner's report and proposal for decision, file exceptions to the report and proposal for decision. Replies to these exceptions shall be filed within 10 days after the date of filing exceptions. The examiner, at his discretion, may grant a reasonable extension of the time for filing of exceptions and replies. A request for extension of time within which to file exceptions or replies shall be filed with the examiner, and a copy of the request shall be served on all parties of record by the party making the request. The examiner shall promptly notify the parties of the executive director's decision with regard to these requests. Additional time shall be allowed only when the interests of justice so require.
- (b) Upon the expiration of the time for filing exceptions or replies to exceptions or after the replies and exceptions have actually been filed (if filed before the period for filing has expired), the examiner's report and proposal for decision will be considered, and the board will render its order.
