At the time collection attempts are being made, TRS personnel should consider supplemental or alternative debt collection procedures including warrant hold procedures authorized by the Texas Government Code, §403.055, and the filing of liens. Except as otherwise provided in TRS policy, no lien securing the indebtedness or warrant hold should be released without the approval of the attorney representing the agency.
