- (a) The department responsible under the procedures for making such determinations shall cause a first demand letter to be sent no later than 30 days after such determination is made. If no satisfactory response is received within 30 days after the date of the first letter, the department shall refer the matter to the legal department which shall cause a second demand letter to be sent not later than 60 days after the date of the first demand letter.
- (b) Demand letters should be mailed in envelopes that contain the statement "address correction requested" and shall comply with the applicable requirements for address verification in 39 Code of Federal Regulations §265.6. Second demand letters shall state, where applicable, that the delinquent obligation will be referred to the attorney general if it is not resolved in manner satisfactory to TRS.
