The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Comptroller--The comptroller of public accounts of the State of Texas.
2. (2) Designated headquarters--The city limits of the town in which a person's headquarters are located.
3. (3) Official mileage guide--The "Texas Mileage Guide" (available in print and electronically) issued under Government Code, §660.043(c). It is intended as a guide for state employees to use in the calculation of mileage while on state business.
4. (4) Payroll period--Designates the time period for which full-time state employees receive payment for services to the state.
5. (5) State pay warrant--A warrant issued by the comptroller payable at the treasury for services rendered to the state.
6. (6) Travel voucher--An accounting document used to implement payment to state officials and employees for travel expenses incurred in the discharge of state business.
