- (a) It is the policy of the commission to authorize the executive director to assign any law enforcement or headquarters staff employee to operate departmental vehicles without inscriptions.
- (b) Such vehicles will be other than those operated for routine patrol duty or which are normally used to conduct ordinary public business of the department.
- (c) Uninscribed vehicles will be used primarily to conduct law enforcement investigations and to carry out special assignments made by the executive director when it is advantageous for successful enforcement of the law and to reach goals of the department as established by the legislature and the commission.
