The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. Words defined in Texas Water Code, Chapter 35, Groundwater Studies, and not defined here shall have the meanings provided in Chapter 35.

1. (1) Board--The Texas Water Development Board.
2. (2) Groundwater management area--An area designated and delineated by the Texas Water Development Board as suitable for the management of groundwater resources.
3. (3) Groundwater--Water percolating below the earth's surface.
4. (4) Groundwater reservoir--A specific subsurface water-bearing reservoir having ascertainable boundaries containing groundwater.
5. (5) Aquifer--Groundwater reservoir as defined in paragraph (4) of this section.
