Table 1 of this section contains 47 volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for which possible analytical procedures provided in Environmental Protection Agency Report SW-846, "Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste," third edition, November 1986, as revised December 1987, include Method 8260, and 15 metals for which SW-846 provides either Method 6010 or a method from the 7000 series or methods. Common names of the VOCs are those widely used in government regulations, scientific publications, and commerce; synonyms exist for many of them. The Chemical Abstracts Service registry number (CAS RN) is shown. Where "Total" is entered, all species in the groundwater that contain the element are included.
