Any owner or operator of a public water system subject to the provisions of this chapter shall retain on the water system premises or at a convenient location near the premises the following records.
- (1) Records of bacteriological analyses must be retained for no less than five years, and records of chemical analyses must be retained for no less than 10 years.
- (2) Records of action taken by the system to correct violations of primary drinking water regulations must be retained for at least three years after the last action taken with respect to the particular violation involved.
- (3) Copies of written reports, summaries, or communications relating to sanitary surveys of the system conducted by the system itself, by a private consultant, or by the commission shall be kept for a period not less than 10 years after completion of the survey involved.
- (4) Records concerning a variance or exemption granted to the system shall be kept for a period ending not less than five years following the expiration of such variance or exemption.
- (5) Any owner or operator of a public water system subject to the provisions of this chapter is required to report to the state the results of any test, measurement, or analysis required to be made by these standards within 10 days following such test, measurement, or analysis.
