1. (a) All services listed in subsection (d) of this section are subject to the funds HHSC allocates to each service provider as described in §357.201 of this chapter (relating to Allocation of Funds).
2. (b) A service provider must make all services available in an accessible format for a person who relies on alternative modes of communication.
3. (c) A service provider must provide each independent living service in accordance with a person's independent living plan or waived independent living plan.

4. (d) A service provider may provide the following services under this chapter:

   1. (1) independent living core services, which are:

      1. (A) information and referral services;
      2. (B) independent living skills training;
      3. (C) peer counseling, including cross-disability peer counseling;
      4. (D) individual and systems advocacy; and
      5. (E) transition services; and

   2. (2) independent living services, which are:

      1. (A) counseling services, including psychological and psychotherapeutic services;
      2. (B) services for securing housing or shelter, including community living, that support the purposes and titles of the Act, and services related to securing adaptive housing, including making appropriate modifications to spaces that serve or are occupied by a person with a disability;
      3. (C) rehabilitation technology;
      4. (D) mobility training;
      5. (E) services and training for a person with cognitive and sensory disabilities, including life skills training and interpreter and reader services;
      6. (F) surveys, directories, and other materials that identify appropriate housing, recreation opportunities, accessible transportation, and other support services;
      7. (G) consumer information programs on the rehabilitation and independent living services that are available under the Act;
      8. (H) education and training necessary for living in a community and participating in community activities;
      9. (I) transportation, including referral services and training on the use of public transportation vehicles and systems;
      10. (J) physical rehabilitation;
      11. (K) therapeutic treatment;
      12. (L) the provision of needed prostheses and other appliances and devices;
      13. (M) social and recreational services, including individual and group;
      14. (N) training for youth with a disability that is designed to develop self-awareness, self-esteem, and the ability to self-advocate, self-empower, and explore career options;
      15. (O) services for children younger than 18 years of age;
      16. (P) federal, state, or local training, counseling, or other assistance designed to help a person with a significant disability become independent and productive and live a good life;
      17. (Q) preventive services that encourage independence and reduce the need for the services that are available under the Act;
      18. (R) awareness programs that encourage an understanding of a person with a significant disability and help the person integrate into the community; and
      19. (S) other services, as needed, which are consistent with the provisions of the Act.
