- (a) Chairperson. The chairperson shall preside at all meetings at which he or she is in attendance and perform all duties prescribed by law or by rules of the council. The chairperson may serve as ex officio member of any committee.
(b) Vice-chairperson. The vice-chairperson shall perform the duties of the chairperson in case of absence of the chairperson. In case the office of chairperson becomes vacant, the vice-chairperson will serve as chairperson until a successor is appointed.
- (1) At the meeting held closest to August 31 of each biennium, the council shall elect a vice-chairperson by majority vote of those members present and voting. Nominations shall be from the floor.
- (2) A vacancy in the office of vice-chairperson may be filled by a majority vote of those members present and voting at the next council meeting.
(c) Secretary. The secretary shall perform all duties as required by the chairperson and such other duties as the council may require.
- (1) At the meeting held closest to August 31 of each biennium, the council shall elect a secretary by majority vote of those members present and voting. Nominations shall be from the floor.
- (2) A vacancy in the office of secretary may be filled by a majority vote of those members present and voting at the next council meeting.
