Water systems supplying water to ice plants or to facilities producing ice at point of use shall be protected in such a manner as to prevent possible contamination of the water, and adequate treatment facilities shall be provided, as required, to render the water safe for human consumption. Such water systems shall also be operated in such a manner as to be assured that water of safe quality is being used. No cross connections between a safe water and an unsafe supply will be permitted.
