All water used in the manufacture of ice sold for human or domestic consumption shall meet drinking water standards from a bacteriological quality standpoint. Also, water used shall not contain any materials which will be detrimental to health.
- (1) Frequent tests (at least four per month) shall be made to determine the bacteriological quality of the water secured from a privately owned water supply, which is used in the manufacture of ice intended for human consumption.
- (2) Similar tests might also be made of the ice manufactured to determine defects during freezing and ice handling operations. All ice in cakes, cubes, or in form of crushed, sized, or flake ice shall be inspected for foreign objects and not sold or offered for human consumption if foreign objects are found.
