1. (a) The Texas State Board of Medical Examiners, referred to as the board, is an agency of the executive branch of state government statutorily empowered to regulate the practice of medicine in Texas.
2. (b) The board may adopt rules as necessary to govern its own proceedings, perform its duties, regulate the practice of medicine in Texas, and enforce applicable law.
3. (c) The board may act under its statute and rules through the Executive Director, Executive Committee, or another committee of the board.
