22 Tex. Admin. Code § 119.7
Periodontics is that branch of dentistry which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth. The maintenance of the health of these structures and tissues, achieved through periodontal treatment procedures, is also considered to be the responsibility of the periodontist. The scope shall be limited to preclude permanent restorative dentistry.
