Authors of published articles and books may claim CPE credit hours provided they contribute to the professional competence of the licensee. Credit hours for preparation of such publications may be claimed up to 10 hours in any CPE reporting period. In exceptional circumstances, a licensee may submit a request to the board for additional credit, not to exceed a total of 20 credit hours in the reporting period. The request should be accompanied by a copy of the article(s) or book(s) and an explanation justifying the request for additional CPE hours.
