If a state or federal law so requires the board to do so or if there is an imminent peril to the public health, safety or welfare, the board may adopt, revise, or waive board rules pursuant to §2001.034 of the Texas Government Code without prior notice. The emergency rule may be effective for no longer than 120 days and may be renewed once for up to 60 days.
