1. (a) To be eligible for a Tradesman Plumber-Limited License an applicant must:

   1. (1) have completed twenty-four (24) hours of classroom training provided by a Board-approved instructor in a Board-approved training program in the areas of health and safety, the latest version of all plumbing codes adopted by the Board, and water conservation;
   2. (2) have at least 4,000 hours of experience working at the trade under the supervision of a RMP or a Master Plumber licensed in another state; and

   3. (3) hold one of the following:

      1. (A) a current Plumber's Apprentice Registration;
      2. (B) a current Journeyman Plumber License issued in another state; or
      3. (C) a current Master Plumber License issued in another state.

2. (b) Upon written request by the applicant, the Board may credit an applicant with up to 1,000 hours of the work experience required to take the Tradesman Plumber-Limited examination if the applicant has completed the classroom portion of a training program that is:

   1. (1) approved by the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship; or
   2. (2) provided by a person approved by the Board and based on course materials approved by the Board.

3. (c) Notwithstanding the training required by subsection (a)(1) of this section, a registered Plumber's Apprentice may apply for and take the Tradesman Plumber-Limited examination if the apprentice has received an associate of applied science degree from a plumbing technology program that:

   1. (1) includes a combination of classroom and on-the-job training; and
   2. (2) is approved by the Board and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

4. (d) An applicant is exempt from the training required by subsection (a)(1) of this section if the applicant:

   1. (1) has completed the classroom portion of a training program provided by a person approved by the Board and based on course materials approved by the Board;
   2. (2) is a registered Plumber's Apprentice who is enrolled in good standing in a training program approved by the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship; or
   3. (3) holds a current Master or Journeyman Plumber License issued in another state.

5. (e) The training program required by subsection (a)(1) of this section shall include:

   1. (1) one (1) six-hour CPE class as required by §365.14(c) of the Board Rules;
   2. (2) the OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Training class described in §363.5(f)(2) of this chapter; and
   3. (3) the eight (8) hours of classroom training described in §363.5(g)(1) of this chapter.
