Reporting for Examination

- (a) Each applicant must report promptly at the place of the examination.
- (b) If an applicant is scheduled for an examination and cannot appear, the applicant must notify the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners in writing, postmarked no later than ten business days before the original examination date.
- (c) An applicant is allowed one emergency reschedule without having to re-apply with a new application and fee.
- (d) An applicant must request the emergency reschedule in writing with an explanation of the emergency, postmarked no later than five business days after the examination date. Business or work schedule conflicts are not considered emergencies.
- (e) An applicant who fails to appear or does not give the required ten business days notice or does not have an excused emergency, shall forfeit the examination fee and must re-apply with a new application and fee.
- (f) If the applicant has an excused emergency, the applicant has five business days after the examination date to notify the Board and reschedule the examination. If the applicant does not reschedule the examination within the five business days after the examination date, the applicant must re-apply with a new application and fee.
(g) The following are considered excused emergencies:
- (1) Death in family;
- (2) Illness or hospitalization of applicant or applicant's immediate family;
- (3) Automobile accident on day of the examination;
- (4) Other reasons approved by the Chief Examiner.
- (h) Emergencies will be subject to verification by the Chief Examiner.
