In addition to the limitations associated with eligible education loans established in §23.2 of this chapter (relating to Eligible Lender and Eligible Education Loan), the following limitations apply to the Peace Officer Loan Repayment Assistance Program.

1. (1) A peace officer may not receive loan repayment assistance through the program for more than five service periods.
2. (2) The maximum amount of loan repayment assistance that a peace officer may receive through this program is $20,000 and may not exceed the unpaid principal and interest owed on one or more eligible education loans, as defined in §23.2 of this chapter.
