The following words and terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

1. (1) Coordinating Board or Board--The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
2. (2) Eligible institution--An institution of higher education designated as a research university or emerging research university under the Coordinating Board's accountability system.
3. (3) Emerging research institution--A public institution of higher education designated as an emerging research university under the Board's accountability system.
4. (4) Institution of higher education or Institution--Any public technical institute, public junior college, public senior college or university, medical or dental unit, public state college, or other agency of higher education as defined in Texas Education Code, §61.003.
5. (5) Research university--A public institution of higher education designated as a research university under the Board's accountability system.
