The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.

1. (1) Annual inspection--Periodic routine inspection/test as defined in the ASME Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, A17.1.
2. (2) Delay--Suspension of compliance with American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Safety Codes for a specific period of time.
3. (3) Inspection report--Department approved cover sheet including one department approved test data sheet for each elevator, escalator, or related equipment.
4. (4) Waiver--Indefinite suspension of compliance with ASME, Safety Codes.
