1. (a) The presiding officer of the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation, with the approval of the Commission, shall appoint a medical advisory committee to advise the Department concerning health issues for contestants.
2. (b) The presiding officer of the advisory committee shall be appointed by the presiding officer of the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation, with the approval of the Commission.

3. (c) The Committee shall be composed of seven members:

   1. (1) one member shall be a trauma specialist;
   2. (2) one member shall be an ophthalmologist;
   3. (3) one member shall be a sports doctor;
   4. (4) one member shall be a neurologist;
   5. (5) one member shall be an emergency medical technician; and
   6. (6) two public members.

4. (d) The Committee shall make recommendations to the Department concerning:

   1. (1) physical tests for contestants; and
   2. (2) registration requirements for ringside physicians.
