1. (a) The Podiatric Medical Examiners Advisory Board consists of nine members appointed by the governor as follows:

   1. (1) six members who are licensed in this state to practice podiatry and have been actively engaged in the practice of podiatry for the five years preceding appointment; and
   2. (2) three members who represent the public.
2. (b) Appointments to the board shall be made without regard to the race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or national origin of the appointees.
