1. (a) Except as provided by subsection (c), an applicant must pass a license examination to qualify for a dietitian license under this chapter.
2. (b) Pursuant to Texas Occupations Code §701.253, the examination required for licensure as a Licensed Dietitian is the examination given by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
3. (c) The department shall waive the examination requirement for an applicant who, at the time of application, is a dietitian registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and whose registration is in active status.
