- (a) Except as modified in this subchapter, the Commission adopts by specific reference the provisions established by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in its 1998 edition of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code (formerly titled Standard for the Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases), commonly referred to as NFPA 58 or Pamphlet 58, effective February 1, 2001. Nothing in this section or subchapter shall prevent the Commission, after notice, from adopting additional requirements, whether more or less stringent, for individual situations to protect the health, safety and welfare of the general public. Any documents or parts of documents incorporated by reference into these rules shall be a part of these rules as if set out in full.
(b) The Commission also adopts by reference all other NFPA publications or portions of those publications referenced in NFPA 58, §12-1.1, which apply to LP-gas activities only. The adopted pamphlets referenced in NFPA 58 are:
- (1) NFPA 10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers, 1998 edition;
- (2) NFPA 15, Standard for Water Spray Fixed Systems for Fire Protection, 1996 edition;
