1. (a) The commission may award the Recorded Texas Historic Landmark (RTHL) designation to historic structures that meet criteria set forth in program guidelines, criteria and procedures adopted by the commission.
2. (b) The RTHL designation becomes effective upon approval by the Texas Historical Commission.
3. (c) Official Texas Historical Markers signify the RTHL designation; designation comes only through application to and approval by the commission.
4. (d) Once designated, properties are subject to provisions of the Government Code, §442.006(f) and rules of the commission.
