Immediately following final payment of necessary expenses for conducting the joint primary elections (but no later than July 1), the county chair shall remit any surplus in the primary fund account to the Secretary of State. (The county chair shall remit the surplus regardless of whether state funds were requested by the chair. If the chair does not file a final cost report, their files will be reported to the Attorney General's Office and/or County District Attorney's Office.)
