- (a) Except as provided by subsection (b) of this section, in addition to the forms of identification enumerated in the Texas Election Code (Code), §63.0101(1)-(8), an affidavit signed by a person working in the polling place attesting to the voter's identity as authorized under the Code, §63.008(a)(2) shall also be acceptable as proof of identification under this chapter.
- (b) An affidavit signed by a polling place worker attesting to the voter's identity as authorized under the Code, §63.008(a)(2) may be used only if the voter does not possess one of the forms of identification set out in the Code, §63.0101(1)-(8) at the time the voter offers to vote.
