The following terms, when used in this subchapter, shall have the following meaning, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

1. (1) Candidate for state chair of a political party--A person who seeks election to serve as the chair of the state executive committee of a political party with a nominee on the ballot in the most recent gubernatorial general election. Candidacy may be evidenced by any one or more of the following actions:

   1. (A) declaring candidacy;
   2. (B) soliciting or accepting a campaign contribution or making or authorizing a campaign expenditure; or
   3. (C) appointing a campaign treasurer as a candidate for state chair.
2. (2) Filer--Candidate for state or county chair, or a committee supporting or opposing a candidate for state or county chair.
