- (a) Federal law requires that a person who wishes to apply for a Title XIX (Medicaid)-funded program be allowed to file an application without delay, regardless of the person's ultimate eligibility for assistance.
- (b) An application form must be mailed within two working days from the receipt of the request for an application.
- (c) The Texas Department of Human Services uses the application form to test eligibility for all Medicaid programs for which the client meets the criteria. A separate application form is not required for each of the different Title XIX long-term care programs for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
