1. (a) The head of each state agency is ultimately responsible for the management of state information resources.
2. (b) The head of a state agency may serve as the state agency's information resources manager or may designate another senior official to serve as the information resources manager on their behalf. The designation of a state agency information resources manager is intended to establish clear accountability for setting policy for information resources management activities, provide for greater coordination of the state agency's information activities, and ensure greater visibility of such activities within and between state agencies.
3. (c) The head of each state agency shall designate an information resources manager. The state agency's designation must contain the name, title, authority, responsibilities, organizational resources, education and experience of the proposed information resources manager in the format prescribed by the department. The department must acknowledge the receipt of the designation of the information resources manager within 30 days after receipt of the designation.
