The State's Chief Information Security Officer shall oversee the development of a statewide information security framework and statewide information security policies and standards, including:

1. (1) Providing leadership, strategic direction, and coordination for the State Information Security program;
2. (2) Developing and overseeing the implementation of policies, standards, and guidelines on information security, including ensuring timely agency adoption of and compliance with standards promulgated under §2054.059, Texas Government Code;
3. (3) Coordinating the development of standards and guidelines with agencies and offices operating or exercising control of State systems;
4. (4) Providing strategic direction to the State Network Security Operations Center; and
5. (5) Reporting to the Executive Director of the department and state leadership the status and effectiveness of the State Information Security Program.
