1. (a) The fee for a permit under this subchapter is $100.

2. (b) The department shall send each fee collected under this subchapter to the comptroller. Of each fee received from the department, the comptroller shall deposit $50 to the credit of the general revenue fund and of the remainder the department shall deposit:

   1. (1) 90 percent to the credit of the state highway fund; and
   2. (2) 10 percent to the credit of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles fund.
