1. (a) The district is governed by a board of seven directors as follows:

   1. (1) six directors elected by place; and
   2. (2) the chief of staff elected by the medical staff under Section 1084.063.
2. (b) Unless four-year terms are established under Section 285.081, Health and Safety Code, the directors elected to the board serve staggered three-year terms.
