1. (a) If a judge orders a defendant to pay a fine repaying a reward or part of a reward under Article 37.073, the court shall assess this fine against the defendant in the same manner as other fines are assessed against a defendant. The court may order the defendant to:

   1. (1) pay the entire amount required when sentence is pronounced;
   2. (2) pay the entire amount required at a later date specified by the court; or
   3. (3) pay specified portions of the required amount at designated intervals.

2. (b) After receiving a payment of a fine from a person ordered to make the payment under this article, the clerk of the court or fee officer shall:

   1. (1) make a record of the payment;
   2. (2) deduct a one-time $7 reimbursement fee from the payment for deposit in the general fund of the county;
   3. (3) forward the payment to the designated crime stoppers organization; and
   4. (4) make a record of the forwarding of the payment.
