1. (a) The name of a corporation or foreign corporation must contain:

   1. (1) the word "company," "corporation," "incorporated," or "limited"; or
   2. (2) an abbreviation of one of those words.
2. (b) Subsection (a) does not apply to a nonprofit corporation or foreign nonprofit corporation.
3. (c) Instead of a word or abbreviation required by Subsection (a), the name of a professional corporation or foreign professional corporation may contain the phrase "professional corporation" or an abbreviation of the phrase.
