S.C. Code Ann. § 62-2-611

Construction that devise passes fee simple

Effective Jan 1, 20141986 Act No. 539, SECTION 1; 2013 Act No. 100, SECTION 1, eff January 1, 2014.

A devise of land is construed to pass an estate in fee simple, regardless of the absence of words of limitation in the devise.
