S.C. Code Ann. § 56-5-2952
The filing fee to request a contested case hearing before the Office of Motor Vehicle Hearings of the Administrative Law Court is two hundred dollars, or as otherwise prescribed by the rules of procedure for the Office of Motor Vehicle Hearings. Funds generated from the collection of this fee must be retained by the Administrative Law Court, provided, however, that these funds first must be used to meet the expenses of the Office of Motor Vehicle Hearings, including the salaries of its employees, as directed by the chief judge of the Administrative Law Court.

Section 11 of 2006 Act No. 381 repealed this section, and Section 37 of Act No. 387 amended it. Although the acts were ratified on the same day, Act 387 contained Section 53 stating "This act is intended to provide a uniform procedure for contested cases and appeals from administrative agencies and to the extent that a provision of this act conflicts with an existing statute or regulation, the provisions of this act are controlling." On the basis of this provision, the Code Commissioner directed that the amendment by Act 387 controls.
2005 Act No. 128, Section 27, provides as follows:
"This act takes effect on July 1, 2005, and applies to all licensing and administrative hearings involving the South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs."
The 2005 amendment rewrote this section to refer to the Division of Motor Vehicle Hearings of the Administrative Law Court.
The first 2006 amendment repealed this section.
The second 2006 amendment, which controls (see Code Commissioner's Note) made nonsubstantive changes.
The 2008 amendment substituted "contested case" for "administrative" and "Office of Motor Vehicle Hearings" for "Division of Motor Vehicle Hearings".
The 2012 amendment rewrote the section.
