S.C. Code Ann. § 56-3-2720
Section effective until January 18, 2024.
The fee for each set of temporary license plates and registration certificates is ten dollars. Application for the plates and certificates must be made to the Department of Motor Vehicles on forms it prescribes and furnishes.

2023 Act No. 51, Sections 33 and 40(C)(1), provide as follows:
"SECTION 33. Article 30, Chapter 3, Title 56 of the S.C. Code is repealed."
"[SECTION 40.](C)(1) SECTIONS 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 30, 31, 32, and 33 take effect eight months after the approval by the Governor, provided that necessary solicitations are awarded in a timely manner in accordance with the State Consolidated Procurement Code."
