S.C. Code Ann. § 38-12-70
(A)
(1) Except as provided in subsection (B), unless an insurer has notified the director in writing of its intention to enter into the transaction at least thirty days before entering into it, or a shorter period as the director may permit, and the director has not disapproved the transaction within the time period, the insurer may not, directly or indirectly:
