S.C. Code Ann. § 20-7-1120 – Issuance of support order by responding tribunal; temporary order

(A) If a support order entitled to recognition under this subarticle has not been issued, a responding tribunal of this State may issue a support order if:
1. (1) the individual seeking the order resides in another state; or
2. (2) the support enforcement agency seeking the order is located in another state.
(B) A tribunal of this State, to the extent otherwise authorized by law, may issue a temporary order if:
1. (1) the defendant has signed a verified statement acknowledging paternity;
2. (2) the defendant has been determined pursuant to law to be the parent; or
3. (3) there is other clear and convincing evidence that the defendant is the child's parent.
(C) After notice and hearing, upon finding that an obligor owes a duty of support, a tribunal of this State shall issue a support order directed to the obligor and may issue other orders pursuant to Section 20-7-1045.
