All funeral directors and/or embalmers regularly licensed in this state, who are or become members of the armed forces of the United States, shall upon proper notification to the secretary of the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors be placed upon the inactive military service list to be kept by such secretary and shall not be subject to the payment of renewal fees upon their licenses as funeral directors and/or embalmers until such time as they have been discharged from the military service of the United States and desire to practice their profession in this state. Upon the discharge of such licensees they shall be reinstated as active funeral directors and/or embalmers upon the payment of the then current year's license fee.
