- A. An applicant to the Oklahoma Police Corps Program shall not be or have been employed in a commissioned law enforcement position.
B. Each applicant to the Program shall:
- 1. Be a citizen of the United States;
- 2. Be of good character;
- 3. Demonstrate a sincere, motivated, and dedicated interest to the field of law enforcement and public service;
- 4. Be a student enrolled at or hold a baccalaureate degree from a college or university which is recognized by and accepted by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and whose hours are eligible for transfer between such recognized institutions;
- 5. Have, or be eligible to obtain, an Oklahoma driver license;
6. Agree, and may be required, to submit to:
- a. examinations to determine physical and mental qualifications for participation in the Program,
- b. a nationwide fingerprint-based check for noncriminal justice background checks pursuant to Public Law 92-544,
- c. a medical examination which meets the standards of the Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System, as well as a Minnesota Multiple Personality Inventory (MMPI) test and interview, a stress test, and a drug screening test,
- d. a polygraph examination administered by the Department of Public Safety on behalf of any law enforcement agency who has entered or may enter into a service agreement to employ one or more graduates of the Program,
- e. a credit bureau check, and
- f. any other investigative procedure necessary to meet the standard requirements for employment at a law enforcement agency in this state.
- C. Each applicant shall be considered on a competitive basis for participation in the Program. The competitive standards for selection shall be developed by the Director.
