Okla. Stat. tit. 43A, § 5-309
No patient admitted to a state mental hospital under the provisions of the Mental Hospital Voluntary Admission Procedures Act shall be detained in a mental hospital against his will more than sixty (60) days after he gives notice in writing to the superintendent of said hospital of his desire to be discharged from said hospital. The superintendent of the hospital may designate one or more employees of the institution to receive a notification provided by this section with the same effect as if delivered to the superintendent personally.
