As used in Sections 12 through 21 of this act, the following words, terms, or phrases shall have the following meanings, unless the context otherwise clearly indicates:

1. 1. “Insurer” means an insurance company or other entity that is or has been authorized to write medical professional liability insurance in this state; and
2. 2. “Medical professional liability insurance” means any insurance that provides professional liability coverage for any health care provider as defined in Section 1-1708.1C of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
