Penalty for Forgery - First Degree - Second Degree - Third Degree

Forgery is punishable as follows:
- 1. Forgery in the first degree is a Class B3 felony offense punishable by imprisonment not less than seven (7) years nor more than twenty (20) years; and
- 2. Forgery in the second degree is a Class D1 felony offense punishable by imprisonment as provided for in subsections B through F of Section 20N of this title.
3. Forgery in the third degree is:
- a. If the value of the forgery is less than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), a misdemeanor punishable by confinement for not more than one (1) year and by a fine not exceeding One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).
- b. If the value of the forgery is One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or more, a Class D1 felony offense punishable by imprisonment as provided for in subsections B through F of Section 20N of this title.
- c. If the total or aggregate value of the forgery is Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) or more, a Class D1 felony offense punishable by imprisonment as provided for in subsections B through F of Section 20N of this title.
